Lethbridge has worked as a research lecturer in the onomastics department of the Árni Magnússon Institute of Icelandic Studies since September 2017. She is currently developing the Rannís infrastructure/database project Nafnið.is, which will make the place-name collection held by the Institute accessible and searchable. Her research fields include: Medieval Icelandic literature and manuscripts; the relationship between landscapes/place names and narrative traditions; environmental history of Iceland; travel books about Iceland (especially those by women).
